FT position for MA-level Child Mental Health Specialist. The Children’s Juvenile Justice System Liaisons work with the juvenile justice system to ensure that eligible children and youth receive necessary mental health and other support services. The goal is to provide effective prevention and intervention strategies for those children and youth most at-risk and most in need in order to prevent or reduce more acute illness, high-risk behaviors and incarceration when possible. Job duties include mental health assessments of individual youth, determining support needs, coordinating service between KCMHP providers, KCSC and the King County juvenile detention facility and attending staffings and court days for Drug Court. The King County Drug Diversion Court (KCDDC) is a pre-sentencing program that provides eligible defendants the opportunity to receive drug treatment in lieu of incarceration. Qualified applicants will have experience working with children and youth with some juvenile justice experience preferred. We are looking for someone with good assessment skills and experience coordinating treatment and skilled at communicating across a wide-range of agencies and systems. Seattle Children’s Home has openings for a full time MST Therapist and half-time MST Supervisor. MST is a well-researched community-based treatment model directed at youth involved in criminal activity and their family. Interested persons may locate information about this treatment model on the internet at www.mstservices.com .

The MST therapist will provide intensive home-based clinical services to families and youth involved with the juvenile justice system with the goal of preventing an out of home placement. The therapist must be able to work closely with juvenile probation counselors and community providers. Staff will need to be able to work a flexible schedule including some weekday evenings and occasional weekend appointments, carry a crisis pager for their assigned cases and attend an initial one week MST training.

The MST Supervisor duties will include liaison with key collaborating agencies, providing ongoing evaluation and staff development for therapists, interfacing with MST expert consultants and providing overall program management. 2 – 3 years of clinical supervisory-level experience preferred.
Specific experience in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Strategic Family Therapy and behaviorally-based marital and drug treatment therapy preferred.

Provide direct care and supervision for youth with emotional & behavioral disorders in a therapeutic residential treatment environment. Successful candidates will possess an understanding of appropriate interactions with children and adolescents and enjoy working with a challenging mental health population.
BA in psychology, social work or related field is preferred.  Experience may be substituted depending on type and nature.  Washington State counselor registration and valid Washington driver's license required prior to employement.  Effective written and verbal communication skills necessary.  Current CPR, First Aid, and food handlers permit to be acquired within first 30 days of employment.
Must be willing to work day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts. $10 to $12.49 per hour.  Full time, part time and relief positions available.

FT position for Masters level therapist and experienced supervisor. The supervisor of the Behavior Support Team provides leadership and direct clinical supervision to the members of the Behavior Support Team in addition to managing a limited case load. Internally, the supervisor assures the overall effective functioning of the team by closely coordinating the functions and capacities of the clinical team with related Agency functions (i.e. with H.R. Finance, IS, Research, QI, other clinical programs etc.) Externally, the supervisor is visible in the community and provides liaison with community professionals and parent advocacy groups. The supervisor regularly consults and collaborates with the program’s clinical consultants from the State of Washington Region IV Division of Developmental Disabilities and King County to ensure that Agency contractual responsibilities of the program are met. The supervisor is responsible for the training and development of new staff and for facilitating their professional growth.

The qualified applicant will be familiar with the challenges that exist for families parenting children with special needs and bring an experienced clinical background to address these issues. He or she will be able to lead client families and the team towards meaningful outcomes. The right applicant will have a passion and vision for how to further advance this highly successful and well-regarded program. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong leadership abilities and who has a desire to advocate for the interests of the disability community. The right applicant will be a creative problem solver. Good public speaking skills are a must.
